<div id="subtitle">Obama nominates special envoy on North Korean human rights issues</div><div><p>President Barack Obama is nominating a new special envoy on North Korean human rights issues.</p><p>The White House announced on Thursday the nomination of Robert King, a one-time congressional aid on the House of Representatives' Foreign Affairs Committee. King will hold the rank of ambassador.</p><p>The last diplomat in the post, during the former Bush administration, was Jay Lefkowitz. He ran afoul of then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice by criticizing the six-nation talks aimed at persuading the North Koreans to give up their nuclear weapons program.</p><img src="http://admatch-syndication.mochila.com/images/ad.gif?aid=59681501&bid=informcom" /></div><div id="copyright"><div>
